About Andrea

1.)  Who’s the person behind the blog?
My name is Andrea. I am a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, and a teacher. I love my
family and enjoy spending the majority of my time with them. I have to talk to my mom and
sister every day, no exceptions. I have a great group of friends who I feel, bring out the best
in me. I love to travel, I love wine...this could get long, so lets make this its own question.
 2.) Likes?
Traveling, wine, fall, coffee, clothes, make-up, hair products (products in general, really),
scarves (a must have!), other blogs, music, nail polish, mani/pedis, Target, post-its,
Facebook, Twitter, purses, laughing, wineries (do you see a pattern here?), dancing, party
planning, crafting, Etsy, Pinterest…to name a few
3.) Where am I from?
I currently live in Swansea, Illinois, but I am a California girl at heart. I was born in San
Diego and lived in Philadelphia for a short time when I was little, but I’ve lived in the
Midwest for most of my life.
4.) What do I teach?
I have taught high school English for eight years now, both in Missouri and Illinois. Simply
put, I love to teach. I feel like teaching is another outlet for me to be creative and build
meaningful relationships. I am not rich, I don't have a fancy house or car, but I do make a
difference in young people's lives and when they come back to see me, or they keep in touch
and I see them graduate from college and do great things, I always want to go back to work
another year.
5.) How did you meet your husband?
My husband and I have known each other since elementary school. We never dated in high
school, or even kept in touch for that matter, and we happened to run into each other at a
local bar in 2005 (classy, huh?). At the time, I had just graduated from college, gotten out of
a year-long relationship, and was not looking to get into another one. I guess the saying
holds true: true love will come knocking on your door when you’re not looking. Amen! Lol
We’ve been married for almost five years, and have a pretty darn good life.
6.) How long have you been a mom?
Not long! lol Just over a year to be exact. My daughter, Lola Claire, is everything to me and
my husband. She is funny, beautiful, spunky, easy-going, and a pure joy to be around. I
know I want at least one more child, but it's safe to say we are very content with her at the
moment.
7.)  Why blog?
I like to think I am a pretty creative person. I have always enjoyed shopping and keeping up
with the latest trends (even if I cannot afford designer everything), styling hair, although I
am not a hair stylist, (but after dealing with my naturally curly hair my whole life, I would
like to think that I could be!), throwing great parties (my love for event planning came after
I planned my wedding), and then there’s my job. I think every teacher is creative, whether
he/she wants to admit it. We are naturally creative beings who “perform,” so to speak, each
and every day. I often get asked to help friends/family with make-up or hair, where I shop,
and how I come up with my creative ideas in general. I think if anything, most of my friends
would say I am “that girl” who cares, probably a little too much, about the details of things.
And I love that. I felt like a blog would just be a great way to throw in my two cents about
things that I love (hence the name of my blog). I am not an expert, I’m not perfect, and I
certainly am not a know it all. I just know what I like, and I like to think I have good taste.
But you can be the judge.
